Nabeeha Aleem
Executive Director
Provides overall leadership and strategic direction for IslamiCity Academy, overseeing program development, partnerships, and institutional growth while ensuring alignment with the academy's mission and educational vision.
Dr. Roshi Khalid
Academic Director
Leads academic planning and curriculum development, ensuring instructional quality, academic standards, and student learning outcomes across all programs.
Amr Saemaldahr
Chief Technology Officer
Oversees the academy's technology infrastructure and digital learning ecosystem, supporting the development and integration of online education platforms and tools.
Arshad Nadeem
Learning Systems Director
Leads the management of IslamiCity Academy’s digital learning environment, including the Buzz learning platform, supporting curriculum delivery, instructional design, and online learning systems.
Asif Ahmed
Website & IT Support Manager
Provides technical support for IslamiCity Academy's website and digital infrastructure, ensuring the website operates smoothly and remains updated to support students, families, and staff.

Dr. Dany Doueiri
Professor of Arabic Language and Culture, CSUSB
Dr. Dany Doueiri brings to IslamiCity Academy extensive experience in Islamic studies, Arabic language education, curriculum development, and digital knowledge dissemination. He serves as Professor of Arabic Language and Culture at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), where he is also the Coordinator of the Liberal Studies program and Associate Director of the Center for the Study of Muslim and Arab Worlds.
At CSUSB, Dr. Doueiri leads interdisciplinary academic initiatives and community engagement efforts focused on education and the study of Muslim and Arab societies. He has played a key role in developing academic programs in the United States and internationally, including minors, certificates, bachelor's degrees, and university–high school partnerships. His teaching spans multiple disciplines, including world languages, history, anthropology, and humanities, with a focus on Islam in both historical and contemporary contexts.
Dr. Doueiri is also a co-founder and former Chief Content Editor of IslamiCity, one of the longest-standing global Islamic digital knowledge platforms. In this role, he oversaw the development and curation of thousands of educational resources and contributed to early innovations in online Islamic learning and distance education.
In addition, he has served as a program evaluator for STARTALK teacher-training initiatives and as a trainer for public school educators. As a member of the Board of Governors, Dr. Doueiri provides strategic guidance on curriculum development, academic standards, and the integration of Islamic ethical frameworks, including usul al fiqh and maqasid-based reasoning, into contemporary educational contexts.
Shahida Alikhan
Former Principal, New Horizon School–Los Angeles
Shahida Alikhan brings decades of distinguished leadership in Islamic education and school administration to IslamiCity Academy. She began her career in the United States at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago before relocating to Los Angeles, where she joined New Horizon School as a teacher and was later appointed Principal of New Horizon School–Los Angeles. She served in this role with distinction for 29 years. During this time, she also served for 11 years as Principal of the ICSC Sunday School.
Ms. Alikhan has made significant contributions to educator development, serving as Professional Development Coordinator at the Aldeen Foundation for 21 years. Her work has supported the growth and training of educators across Islamic schools nationwide.
Following her retirement in 2014, she continued her commitment to education by returning in 2019 as a part-time administrator at CORE. She has also played an important role in school quality and accreditation, serving on visiting teams for both California Association of Independent Schools and Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
In recognition of her lifelong dedication to Islamic education, Ms. Alikhan has received the New Horizon School–Los Angeles Appreciation Award and the ISNA Lifetime Achievement Award. As a member of the Board of Governors, she provides strategic guidance on school leadership, teacher development, accreditation standards, and the advancement of high-quality Islamic education.
Dr. Mahbuba Hammad
Educational Leader & Literacy Advocate
Dr. Mahbuba Hammad brings a dynamic combination of academic research, educational leadership, and public impact to IslamiCity Academy. Her work spans educational leadership, language pedagogy, and public health, with a strong focus on advancing equity, literacy, and culturally responsive education. She is quadrilingual and proudly represents her Arab-Latino heritage.
In 2023, she played a leading role in spearheading legislation in California to formally recognize April as Arab American Heritage Month, culminating in its historic adoption by the California State Legislature. This achievement reflects her commitment to representation, civic engagement, and inclusive education.
Her contributions to literacy and education have earned national recognition. In 2019, she was named one of the "30 Under 30" literacy leaders by the International Literacy Association. She was also honored by Eloise Gómez Reyes as one of the "30 Under 30" leaders in California's 47th District, and was recognized as one of the "40 Under 40 Arab American Leaders" by the Arab America Foundation.
As a member of the Board of Governors, Dr. Hammad contributes strategic guidance on curriculum innovation, educator development, literacy advancement, and community engagement, helping ensure that IslamiCity Academy remains responsive to the evolving educational needs of diverse learners.
