High School Program (Grades 9–12)

ICA’s future High School program will expand learning options to prepare students for college,
careers, and lifelong contributions to society.

Subject Topics / Skills Covered in 9 - 12 grade
BYU Grades 9 - 12
  • ICA partnered with BYU offers both “Semester Live” courses (virtual, teacher-led) and “Flex On Demand” courses (self-paced, asynchronous) — giving students flexibility to learn on their own schedule or in more structured live classes.
  • Students can take 6–7 courses per semester (so roughly 12–14 per school year).
  • There are two main diploma tracks available: Standard and Advanced. The Advanced track is more rigorous and geared toward students aiming for competitive colleges or more challenging academic preparation.
  • Over 200 courses are offered — so there’s a wide variety of subjects, from core academic subjects to electives, career-and-technical education (CTE), life-preparation courses, and more.

    • This flexibility makes ICA an option for students who need a non-traditional schedule, want to accelerate or customize their education, or prefer online learning.
    Arabic
  • Emphasis on advanced grammar, syntax, and rhetoric — focus shifts from everyday Arabic to more formal and literary styles.
  • Literature: reading and analyzing more complex texts, likely both classical and modern Arabic works.
  • Expression: essays, persuasive writing, speaking with precision; more fluency and depth in writing and speech. Inferably, native speaker-level or close to it.
    • Qur’an
  • Recitation, Tajweed rules — refining pronunciation, mastering recitation techniques.
  • Memorization of larger portions of the Qur’an; review and reinforcement of prior memorization. (Inferred from “Quran Recitation and Memorization” offerings)
  • Understanding Tafseer (interpretation) — exploring meanings, context, implications of verses.

    Islamic Studies
  • Beliefs & Theology (Aqidah) — deeper exploration of doctrine, Tawhid, attributes of Allah, and complex theological issues.
  • Seerah / Prophetic Biography — more detailed stories of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), lessons from his life, and reflection on character and leadership.
  • Fiqh / Islamic Jurisprudence — more in-depth study of rulings (especially worship, ethics, community life), possibly dealing with more nuanced or modern issues.
  • Islamic History & Civilization — understanding the growth of Islam, major historical events, expansion, interactions with other cultures.
  • Ethics, moral framework, character building — applying Islamic values in real life; decision-making aligned with values. (Inferred from “Values-Based education” language)
