ICA's Middle School program offers a strong foundation in core academic subjects while nurturing Islamic identity through Arabic and Islamic Studies.

Arabic Language

Advanced grammar and syntax — beyond the basics, dealing with more complex sentence structures, verb tenses, gender, mood, etc.

Literature & rhetoric — reading more sophisticated texts, perhaps classical or modern Arabic literature, analyzing writing style, rhetoric devices.

Expressive and communicative skills — speaking, writing, and reading with clarity; writing essays, composing arguments, effective conversation; more fluent vocabulary.

Precision & fluency — emphasis on accurate use of Arabic, more exposure to Fus-ha (formal) Arabic, Qur'anic Arabic influence.
Qur'an Studies

Recitation with Tajweed — students work on refining their recitation, mastering rules of Tajweed more consistently.

Memorization — applying effective strategies for memorizing longer portions (surahs / parts of the Qur'an) and reviewing previously memorized content.

Meaning, Reflection & Tafsir — understanding the meanings of ayat, their contexts, and reflections; deeper interpretive work (tafsir) to understand how Qur'anic teachings apply to life.
Islamic Studies

Beliefs & Theology (Aqidah) — deeper study of Islamic creed, beliefs, perhaps exploring attributes of Allah, theological concepts with more detail.

Fiqh & Jurisprudence — understanding the rules of worship, purity, the legal rulings relevant to teenage life; what Islam requires in more complex / nuanced situations.

Seerah / Prophetic Biography — more detailed stories of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH and possibly lessons from his life; character building through examples.

Ethics, Morals, Character Development — applying moral teachings, adab (manners), ethics; dealing with challenges, conflict, identity formation, responsibilities.

Integration of knowledge & life application — how to apply Islamic principles in daily life; dealing with modern / societal issues through an Islamic lens.
